There are 180,000 reindeer in Norway, and 15 men and women whose only task is to law enforcement them.
Gianmarco Maraviglia expended one week final spring with the reindeer law enforcement, a branch of the Norwegian Police Company that displays reindeer herding in Finnmark and Troms. The two counties address some 27,000 sq. miles of distant forest in the country’s rugged northwest corner. “The strategy that they have an full law enforcement corps focused to shielding character was incredibly attention-grabbing to me,” he says.
Maraviglia, who lives in Milan, acquired about the reindeer law enforcement in 2015 even though reading Forty Days With no Shadow: An Arctic Thriller, a murder secret established in the village of Kautokeino.
