Filming character documentaries is a singular pursuit—often horrible conditions, a lot of things biting you, and a lot of waiting around for your subject matter to show up. And it doesn’t get much extra difficult than monitoring snow leopards in the Kashmir mountains. This is one particular of the most elusive cats on Earth, living in one particular of the most inhospitable environments on Earth. So to capture a snow leopard for David Attenborough’s new collection Earth Earth II, the crew had to mix persistence, luck, and a full lot of fancy tech. They deployed digicam traps alongside the mountain passes, capturing (at any time-so-briefly) their prize strolling previous. Inevitably, they captured extra than they could have at any time hoped for working with a digicam loaded with a good-ol’ large lens: the 1st sighting of snow leopards mating in the wild. You can see it all over in glorious 360 levels (click and drag to seem around), from the pursuit to the payoff. And hey, reward: almost nothing will bite you in the process. (This is the 2nd of 6 powering-the-scenes 360-diploma films we’ll be publishing from the collection. Check again in this thread for extra as the BBC releases them.) Go Back again to Prime.
