What the latest trailer for Star Trek Beyond lacks in new footage, it helps make up for in Rihanna. A good trade if at any time there was one. Not that there is practically nothing new at all new in this article. We’ve obtained Kirk’s captain’s log, and some entertaining shots of the Company pretty basically going down in flames. (The trailer’s also notable for what it doesn’t demonstrate us, namely Chekov, performed by Anton Yelchin, who tragically passed absent very last 7 days in a freak incident). Honestly, though, most of this is retread, especially if you’ve seen, say, any Star Trek movie at any time before. What helps make the trailer actually truly worth your look at, though, is its soundtrack: “Sledgehammer,” a Rihanna jam that breaks us out of the movie concept music doldrums. Scepter’s “Writing’s On the Wall” snoozer? Not excellent. The Ghostbuster reboot’s Fall Out Boy jam? Stay-Puft-Marshmallow-bad. But “Sledgehammer” is… good! And not just in comparison to the current dreck. It’s no Peter Gabriel, but we’ll acquire it. No issue how you imagine the new Star Trek appears to be like, at minimum it appears good. Pause at: :49 for bye-bye, Company 1:20 for some neat sci-fi laser gun action 1:38 for yet another massive growth. Essential estimate: “This is my very last report as the captain of the starship Company. Go Back again to Top rated. Skip To: Commence of Posting.
